It’s here.
In 14 days, I get on a plane and fly from Chicago, Illinois to Istanbul Turkey. After 28 Days in Turkey, I will spend the next five months visiting nine more countries in Europe and Asia. They are, in order…
- Turkey
- Bulgaria
- Romania
- North Macedonia
- Albania
- Montenegro
- Croatia
- India
- Vietnam
- Thailand
Why am I doing this?
It’s simple. When I was going to be turning 63, I realized that the money from social security and pension would not be enough to survive comfortably… in the United States. So I started searching for places I could live comfortably on the money I receive monthly. I found that there are many countries that one can visit, and live comfortably in, on a fixed income.
It took me 6 to 9 months of planning to go from an idea to an actual trip. I plan to tell you about my ideas, the places I found, and how I managed to put this all together. And even though I haven’t left yet, I already know some mistakes I made and things I might have done differently.
There’s a lot to deal with and think about.
- Do these countries require visas?
- Are there entry requirements?
- Are there limits to the length of stay?
- Are the cities & countries safe?
- Will you need prescriptions or health insurance?
- What will the weather be like?
- How will you get mail?
- What type of electricity do they use?
- Can you drink the water safely (this is important)?
- You will have to consider the money they use and their language.
- What activities are available?
- How will you occupy your free time and rainy days?
- What psychological and emotional doubts will you deal with?
- And so much more.
Are you thinking of joining me?
I’m looking forward to the company…
Until then, enjoy life’s journey.
